Change of plans

Like everything here in Uganda, plans always change. We are now not going to the west. There was a little trouble with the natives planning our schedule. We were suppose to be traveling today, but will probably move tomorrow instead. So things are up in the air. Tentatively, we are going to visit schools that are close to Kampala, then go white water rafting in Jinja, and finish the week with traveling to Kenya. Courtney is really excited to have us visit the people and places she stayed at in Kenya. Next week we will make a slow trip back to Kampala before our flight home. We will stay in two different villages between Kenya and Kampala.

I know I just made a post saying that I haven’t gotten sick, but I have been having a bit of a sore throat. I pray it doesn’t turn into a cough or worse. I think I spoke too soon!

I know you all are wanting more pictures, but it is hard to load them up because I am usually at a internet cafe. You can never trust a cafe to be free of viruses. I may not be able to put up any more pics until I return to the states. I will try though.

I’m curious about the virus situation. If you go back we’ll have to get you a blackberry that can create a wifi hot spot. Did you see the Verizon guy? “Can you here me now?” That way your connection will be secure and malicious servers won’t be a hassle.

Also there are cameras that automatically add photos to your facebook/ flickr. That would be a workaround. But honestly the best workaround would be to bring a net book that has something like Deep Freeze on it where every time you restart the machine it resets to a basic state. That way any files that weren’t “frozen” on the computer would be erased.

OK sorry to get too tech on here. Glad to hear you are having such an amazing adventure. Has the World Cup had any effect on your trip? Ghana beat the USA in a big game.

    LuLu,
Sorry to inform you that we left your car open while we were out of town last weekend. Gunner decided to make his bed in the back seat. He kinda left a stain there. In fact, you might need a hazmat team to clean it. Tried airing it out, but it keeps raining and that’s causing the interior to mold. Hope your insurance covers all this.

Norm- That does sound a but technical, but we will have to absolutely discuss this when I get back. It is a shame I can’t post pics because I have some great ones. But the World Cup has not effected anything. We are so far away from the games that it doesn’t matter. I guess the only thing effected is my annoyance of constantly hearing that buzzing sound everywhere I walk in town.

Chad- Ha, ha. Very funny. You forget I have Dawn on my side!

While you’re over there, can you find the Obama village and tell them they can have their idiot back.
